How much does each ad space cost?Ad blocks are just $24 USD each per year for a 10 x 10 image. At only 2 dollars per month you are sure to get your moneys worth.
How long will my ad be live?Your ad will be live for 365 days (1 year) from the date we approve your ad. You will receive an email with a payment link which you can use to renew and extend your ad block within the 365 days. You can extend your expiration date by 1 year increments at any time for $24 USD per ad block. If you choose to not renew your ad within 365 days, your ad block will be deleted and available to the public for purchase. The expiration time period for your ad block begins the day we approve your ad, not the date of payment, in order to ensure you receive the full 365 days.
How many ad spaces can I buy?You can buy as many ad spaces as you like. There is no limitation.
Can I buy an ad on any month?Yes, you can purchase an ad block on any month at any time of the year, not just this months homepageofthemonth.
Can I buy an ad on more than one homepage?Yes, you can buy an ad block on each of the 12 monthly homepages at any time if you like.
Can I change my ad from one homepage to another?No, once you purchase an ad on one homepage, we cannot move your ad to another homepage. You can purchase an ad on another homepage though. With thousands of ad blocks it would be inefficient and chaotic to move ad blocks around.
What types of websites do you not accept?We do not accept websites that promote adult content, pornography, gambling or anything illegal within the US. We will try to keep the site family friendly, but not everything important and interesting is always family friendly.
Can I change my ad image and description?Yes, you can login and change your ad block image and description whenever you want. You will receive an email with login and password after we receive payment and approve your ad block.
Can I buy a permanent ad?Not at this time. The internet is not static and neither will be HomepageOfTheMonth.com. When an ad block expires someone else can purchase it for their ad. You can extend the expiration date of your ad block at anytime within the first year using the payment link within the email we sent to you.
Why can't I buy a permanent ad?We want participation in creating the HomepageOfTheMonth to be affordable to everyone. Permanent ads would cost much more than the current $24 price. We want to entertain our visitors. If the ad blocks were all the same for the next 5 years, why would anybody revisit the site. The ads will always be changing at different times, so visitors will always have a new experience when visiting HomepageOfTheMonth.com. We want people to come back to see what's new and this will allow our members to get the maximum benefit for their money. We want to reduce the "been there done that" effect that occurs with selling permanent ad blocks.
How can I pay for my ad space?We accept PayPal and Google Checkout at this time. We will be adding a few other payment processors in the future.
What currencies do you accept for payment?We accept any payment currency that our payment processors handle. For more information visit PayPal or Google Checkout to find out what currencies they will process payments for.
Do you offer refunds?Yes, but only if your ad is not accepted during the initial review, otherwise no refunds of any kind will be provided for any other reason. No refunds will be provided if after we accept your ad block, you change your ad to content we do not accept (see FAQ about sites we accept). If you ever display an ad or link to content that we do not accept, your account will be terminated and your ad space will be made available for purchase and you will not receive a refund of any kind.
Do you provide any guarantees?We guarantee your ad block will be live until its expiration date. We will do our best to keep the Homepageofthemonth live at all times, but there may be limited down times due to maintenance, or unforeseen factors that are out of our control which we can not be held responsible for. We do not provide any other expressed or written guarantees.
Will search engines consider this site a link farm?No, every outbound link contains the "nofollow" attribute so it will not be considered a link farm by search engines. This site was not designed to provide "link juice."
What is link juice and why don't you give it up?Link Juice is given when a website provides a backlink to your website. Some search engines will determine your sites ranking based on the number of backlinks your site has, as well as, many other criteria I don't have time to explain. Providing link juice is not the point of this site. Besides, a page with thousands of outbound links will not provide significant link juice anyway. We are doing what is best for this site, which in-turn will be best for your ad block.
